It’s No 7 for Advanced Eyecare Research
Advanced Eyecare Research is delighted to announce that it’s preservative-free range of contact lens solutions have been chosen by No 7, the UK’s leading independent manufacturer of Gas Permeable lenses. Maxine Green of No.7 said ‘ we are aware of the excellent reputation the Regard solution has built up over the years, so when the Regard RGP solution became available we decided that this solution would be ideal for our new lenses. However, following extensive in-house testing, we decided to offer our customers the whole Regard preservative-free range, as we believe these solutions are the perfect complement to our lenses.
The products we are offering to our customers are the recently launched Regard RGP solution, the well-established Regard soft lens solution, and Reset dual-action in-eye cleaning and wetting drops, which are suitable for all types of contact lenses.
As we want to minimise the amount of preservatives entering the ocular environment we will be recommending the Regard RGP solution as ideal for use with our new SoClear corneal sclera lens, while the Standard Regard solution is perfect for the Synergeyes hybrid lens as well as our other soft lens.’
Chris Jamieson of Advanced Eyecare Research said ‘we are proud that a company with the reputation of No. 7 is
prepared to promote our products to their customers. This is further recognition of our technologically advanced,
preservative-free contact lens care products, which we will continue to ensure are only available to the optical market.
Sales promotion
Consultants Positive Impact sales have been commissioned to assist in the promotion of our unique product range. Initially promoting our new Regard RGP solution to some 200 independent practitioners, Positive Impact sales reps will be offering a free stock promotion, with the orders being delivered to the practitioner by their favourite wholesaler. Silicone Hydrogels
Practitioners interested in fitting Silicone hydrogel lenses should visit the Silicone hydrogels.org website where several clinical papers are available. Lyndon Jones has written a short but interesting article suggesting that practitioners using new lens materials should seriously consider prescribing the latest contact lens solutions because there is growing evidence of issues relating to preservatives and these types of lenses. We simply ask all practitioners to ask themselves how much preservative is good for the eye? We believe none is the correct answer no matter what type of material used.
